Our vision

To help young people know God and make Him known in Australia, Asia and the Pacific

1. OUR HEARTBEAT.

Our main mission at YWAM - Reef to Outback is to help young people to know God and to make Him known.

2. MOBILE Discipleship Training SchoolS (DTS) - A BIG DIFFERENCE!

Take the first step into missions! The DTS is an amazing training school like no other. It's a journey about God and you - a journey of discovery, where God's ways become a real and vital part of your daily life. The emphasis in the school is applying what you've learnt; it's about transformation; having your life impacted, your heart filled with faith and your thinking aligned with God's. The DTS exposes you to God's heart for the nations and will provide opportunities to travel and engage with God's purposes through hands-on missions locally & internationally. It's a corner stone for helping young people to know God and make Him known.

At Reef to Outback we've had a long hard look at the way we train. We have found that breaking the school into various phases creates a very positive interactive learning environment. Part of that breakup in schedule includes getting out of the classroom and out into the Aussie bush for a camping trip during lecture phase. We also split the outreach into two different phases: both local & regional/international outreaches. This enables you to (learn heaps) take full advantage of processing the principles and knowledge gained while directly applying them during outreach.

There are a wide variety of ministry opportunities that allow you to step out and discover your individual gifts and calling.

After each phase we usually return to the familiar surroundings of Townsville, our Reef to Outback home. So, if you don't like sitting still for too long our training schools may be exactly what you are looking for. In total our DTS's have 12 weeks of lectures and 9 weeks of outreach during the 21-week school.

Impact World School*
Would you like to see whole cities changed by the Gospel? In Acts 2, the public preaching of the Gospel resulted in 3,000 people giving their life to Christ. The Evangelists of today are carrying a message of love, life and freedom to thousands of young people through hard core skaters, bladers, bikers, hip-hop, cultural performers, sports demonstrations, and full-on feats of strength combined to deliver the never changing truth of Jesus' love for this world. It's happening now and people like you are needed to prepare for the harvest. The support needed behind the scenes is mind-boggling, but the results are tremendous.

School of Music in Missions*
Music is a powerful tool, reaching into the heart and soul of millions. At YWAM - Reef To Outback the School of Music in Missions is about equipping musicians with the tools necessary to reach the lost and impact nations using the skills and talents that God has given them.

School of Biblical Studies Seminar*
Through a different approach to the Bible you will discover that His Word is His perfect provision; a smorgasbord of His love, advice, and promises for our daily lives. The Inductive Approach used on the SBS Seminar will help unlock the power of His Word and will help reveal what the Bible actually says.
