Latest News from our Web-Site

A Bit of a Foreign Thing!

People from back home have been asking how we are finding the settling in process. As each week passes we are finding out more and more differences between what we know and what we are yet to learn. It’s kind of fun, but hard all at the same time!! For Bill, it is a quick [...]

The “Settling” Bit

This is the next part of our transition phase. We’ve passed the decision making, packing, selling and closure part (that’s what we did in Australia),  now we’re onto the “Settling” stage and YES, we would love to get covered in PRAYER for this part! Not too sure how long this stage will be, but praise the [...]

Our Little Mission’s Kid!!

Call it bragging, call it being a proud parent or call it “a kick up the rear” for his Mum and Dad. Caleb certainly knows how to teach his Mum and Dad how easy it is to just come out and ask someone if they know Jesus. I love the “no fear of man” that [...]

“Still Call Australia Home…”

Some may know Peter Allen’s song… no matter how far or how wide I roam, I still call Australia home. We’ve been in Canada for close to 6 weeks now and I must admit that often…sometimes many times a day, that song makes its way into my head. For Bill it it feels somewhat different. [...]

The Eagles Have Landed!!

A 4am wake up, 7 large suitcases, 7 carry on pieces of luggage and a family with many mixed emotions is how we left Townsville, Australia on March 31st, 2009. Right now I am trying real hard to not focus on what we left behind (those memories will be allowed to come out once I [...]

Yes I finally made it! I was wondering myself for a long time whether I would. It's been a long journey... but I'm finally here and couldn't be happier! God is already doing amazing works.
For sure we should keep in touch! I was actually going to email you several times through the last couple years but I had totally lost your email and contact info! I felt so bad... I'm horrible for losing things like that! Of course I had no clue that I could just find you on here... silly me.
Yes, I was still going to SCCC, though not as often as I probably should have for various reasons (one of which being that I worked from 5am until 3pm each day except sundays... So I was usually too exhausted to stay awake during the sermon. I got them all on tape at least). It'll always be my home church, no matter where I am in the world or how long I'm gone.
Good to hear you're settling in. Jet lag must be horrible going that direction... it wasn't too bad coming here but I just know I'll be wiped when I go back! Everyone will be thrilled to see you though! It's all I'd heard about for the last few weeks... so many people were so excited to have you back.
Well, I wish you all the best and hope to hear from you again soon! Keep it touch! Say hello to everyone for me! Let them know I haven't been bitten or poisoned yet ;)
Love,
-Chelsea

Thank you for your encouragement in your comment on my blog!
And yes, I know it's the best time because, I"m not sure if you remember, but you were the ones who got me involved in this DTS! 3 years ago you were visiting Calgary and talking about RTO and I mentioned I wanted to get into missions work.. and you told me you thought I was supposed to go to an April DTS. I was the "intense" and happy one in the front pew ;) I didn't expect you to remember me, but it's all because of you that I ended up specifically here at the perfect time! :)

Hi Bill and Tamara,
Great news to finally be, just about on your way. How exciting.
I have told Janelle and if you need a hand, let us know. Perhaps we can help in some practical way. We would love to catch up for a coffee, but realise you have much to do, and many to see before you leave for your next adventure in serving God in Calvary.
Many blessing for your family
kind regards. Kevin and Janelle Brake

The Pain Behind the Sex Industry

“I’m married with a little girl. My husband doesn’t like that I’m a prostitute, but if I don’t sell myself, we won’t be able to afford the food we need to survive.” This was the cry recently heard by the YWAM Reef to Outback outreach team in Bali. The most shocking thing of all? Sex with this...
